The side event will showcase a successful partnership between the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES), the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) and the National Food Institute, Technical University of Denmark (DTU Food) that led to the establishment of the Risk Assessment Knowledge Integration Platform (RAKIP). This partnership is a response to the critical need for infrastructural resources supporting efficient exchange of data and models between all stakeholders in the domain of food safety risk assessment, which is also a concern in other One Health domains. The RAKIP partners developed the open Food Safety Knowledge eXchange (FSKX) format for risk assessment models or model modules, which ensures full transparency, reproducibility and interoperability. EFSA is committed to maintaining and improving the created resources, such as the FSKX standard, the RAKIP model repository and a number of FSKX-compliant open source software solutions. The side event will illustrate this success story and how it can be extended to establish a truly open, interoperable European One Health knowledge exchange system. The event also intends to call on other EU Member States to join and contribute to the RAKIP Initiative.
